The three pages I chose were Untold Stories of the Sea, Gossips of the Glass House and The Darling Tales of Wendy. These stories, in one way or another, stood out to me. Some stood out because of the visual aspects of the blog page itself and some because of the words within the blogs.
The Untold Stories of the Sea blog stood out to me because of my love for mermaids and the sea in general. Of all the Disney princesses, Ariel has always been my favorite. One of my favorite quotes is “Whatever we lose, like a you or a me, it is always ourselves we find at the sea.” This blog reminded me of all the things I love about the ocean (and large bodies of water in general). The topic did do a good job of explaining what it is the blog is about. I do not particularly like the design of the blog. It is a little messy and not appealing to me. It could be a lot better.
Gossips of the Glass House stood out to me immediately because of the image it inspired in me. I love reading about and learning about Greek Mythology. I think it is very interesting and there are so many different adaptations that people have created over the year. It can make for a very dynamic story line. The introduction, in my opinion, did a relatively good job depicting what was to come in the rest of the blog. I do like this blog more than the first but in contrast, this blog is a little boring to me. It’s clean, but the colors are too similar to bring out enough contrast.
The Darling Tales of Wendy stood out to me because I like to read older books. They bring me to a life I can’t recreate otherwise. This blog does give a really clear picture of what the rest of the story will be about and sets the scene very well, as long as you have seen Peter Pan and its sequels. This blog is my favorite visually of the three. It is dark and inviting. The font is great for the actual text, because it is a letter, but I think it is overkill to use it on the side navigation bar as well. My favorite image was from this blog and it is shown below.
